Kristen Stewart Is A 'Fantastic' Snow White, Says Nick Frost

After the release of an impressive first trailer, expectations for "Snow White and the Huntsman" shot sky high. All of the sudden, a film that people knew almost nothing about aside from its star-studded cast led by Kristen Stewart and Chris Hemsworth, became one of the most anticipated movies of 2012. But the question lingers for many fans: can Kristen Stewart carry a film that isn't "Twilight"? She didn't speak a word in the trailer, which depended largely on a perfectly evil Charlize Theron to sell the film, and potential Twi-hard backlash could sink "SWATH" before it even hits theaters. One of Snow White's trusted dwarves, Nick Frost, assured MTV News that Stewart does more than enough to prove herself. "It was our last day on Friday, and she has kind of a big rabble rousing speech, and she's great. She's fun on set. She's a fantastic actress," said Frost while promoting "The Adventures of Tintin." Frost feels that people can discount Stewart unfairly because of her previous work, but there are a few things they don't keep in mind. "I think people forget she's fairly young still, but she's dedicated and she wants to do a good job," he said. "Often, I don't think people take that into consideration. She's doing 'Twilight' and stuff like that, but she's dedicated." It's the combination of Stewart's age and the amount of work that "SWATH" demanded that really left an impression on Frost. "How old is she? Twenty-three, twenty-four?" Frost asked. "I don't know that many twenty-three or twenty-four year-olds that get picked up at 4 am and work until 10 at night, six days a week. She comes on set smiling and laughing, and she knows her lines." What do you think of what Nick Frost had to say about Kristen Stewart? Let us know in the comments below and on Twitter!

Was 'The Girl Using the Dragon Tattoo' Hurt by Foreign Remake Fatigue?

Audiences were not just disinterested within the Bosnian war over Christmas ticket purchasers were also somewhat awesome on 'The Girl Using the Dragon Tattoo.' The long awaited self-announced "feel below par movie of Christmas," finished in 4th place within the holiday with $19.4 million, and it has made $27 million since release last Tuesday. What could trigger the less-than-thrilling amounts? Possibly remake fatigue. Because the La Occasions highlights, the David Fincher-directed version of 'The Girl Using the Dragon Tattoo' may be the latest inside a growing type of fiscally disappointing remakes from recent European source material. (The initial adaptation of 'The Girl Using the Dragon Tattoo' arrived on the scene in '09.) From 'Let Me In' (modified from 'Let the correct one In') to 'Brothers' (modified from 'Brothers'), you will find lots of recent foreign hits which have unsuccessful for connecting with American audiences. Obviously, that may not be with 'Dragon Tattoo.' In the end, the film is almost two-and-a-half hrs long (which limits daily showings), ranked 'R,' and -- because the millions who read Stieg Larsson's source material know -- full of rape, incest and excessive violence against women. Not always the kind of happy Christmas fare that families were searching to determine within their escape towards the cinemas earlier this weekend. Plus, 'Dragon Tattoo' has gotten strong reviews, meaning its word-of-mouth will propel the film with the holiday week. The feeling-bad movie of Christmas might become the must-see film of recent Year's for grown ups. Which would be to say, don't discount 'The Girl Using the Dragon Tattoo' from the box-office perspective at this time. Besides, Larsson's books were worldwide best-retailers -- and 'Dragon Tattoo' hasn't folded out overseas in almost any kind of major way. Unlike the Millennium Trilogy, the financials of Fincher's adaptation haven't yet been written. Translation: there's still expect Rooney Mara to experience with fire. The Sitter: Film Review

This story appears in the Dec. 16 issue of The Hollywood Reporter. Earvin "Magic"Johnson, now 52, won five NBA titles when he played for the 1980s "Showtime" Lakers; his Magic Johnson Enterprises, which once included a theater chain, was estimated by Forbes in 2009 to be worth $500 million; and as of Dec. 2, he was part of a bid to buy the Los Angeles Dodgers. But he threw up a brick when he entered the late-night talk show business with 1998's The Magic Hour, two years after ending his 13-year playing career. The Hollywood Reporter review said the syndicated Twentieth Television show was "absent the spark of spontaneity and sharp conversation." While Magic Hour started strong and even briefly topped CBS' Late Show With David Letterman in the NY ratings, success was fleeting. Critics said Johnson seemed stiff on-air, was prone to mumbling and had poor interviewing skills. His sidekick, comic Craig Shoemaker, was fired for calling the show "an absolute nightmare." But Magic Hour did have one high point when its most high-profile critic, Howard Stern, was invited as a guest. The shock jock began by asking, "Where's the white guy, the comedian?" (Johnson's response: "We weren't clicking"), then gave the novice host interviewing advice ("Loosen up and talk Ebonics all you want. Why does everyone have to understand every word you say?") and asked detailed questions about Johnson's sex life before becoming HIV-positive in 1991. Although the Stern appearance doubled the show's ratings, it was off the air after three months. Johnson then focused on deals with Burger King, PepsiCo, Ron Burkle and others that financially freed him from ever having to host a talk show again. Related Topics Howard Stern Earvin Magic Johnson

What Kevin Spacey Thinks About Using Cell Phones in Theaters

While there’s hope that one idiotic theater in Washington encouraging audiences to text during movies dies a speedy death, take heart in the actions of new Movieline hero Kevin Spacey. The actor took a stand at a recent Sydney performance of Richard III when a rude theatergoer answered their cell phone during the play. “Spacey, the would-be Duke of Gloucester, singled out the phone owner and bellowed ‘Tell them we’re busy!’,” reports the UK Telegraph. “The audience erupted in support.” Sigh. If only actors could leap off the screen to do the same in cineplexes. [Telegraph via Movie City News]

Producer Dan Halsted Inks First-Look Development Deal With Fox TV Studios (Exclusive)

Jojo Whilden/ Lionsgate Lionsgate has been sued by a consulting firm that alleges it is owed money for services provided to help its slate of films garner Academy Award nominations. The work is said to have resulted in an Oscar nod for Nicole Kidman in the best actress category for Rabbit Hole, and the firm says it is entitled to $61,500 plus interest.our editor recommendsNicole Kidman, Director Philip Noyce Set for 'My Wild Life' (AFM 2011) PHOTOS: 2011 Oscars Red Carpet The lawsuit was filed in Los Angeles Superior Court earlier this month by CBB Consulting, which says it was contracted in August 2010 to provide logistical services in advance of awards season. Per the agreement, CBB was to get $12,000 per month from August until the Academy Awards telecast in late February. The agreement provided a right to terminate with five days written notice. On November 1 2010, Lionsgate allegedly informed CBB of its intention to terminate. According to the complaint, the explanation given was "financial reasons." (At the time, the studio was battling investor Carl Icahn for control of the company.) PHOTOS: 2011 Academy Awards Nominees Luncheon However, CBB says that no written notice was given and that the reasons cited weren't permissible in the opt-out provision, which stated that the parties were allowed to cancel in the event of "any change in business form, management or organization or any other occurrences materially frustrates this intent." CBB now claims it is owed $42,000 for unpaid services. In addition, the firm claims $12,000 more damages as a promised fee for handing over an updated draft of an Academy members mailing list. Finally, CBB says it's due $7,500 as a promised bonus for Kidman's nomination. According to the agreement, CBB was to get $5,000 for an Oscar nomination (which Kidman got) and $2,500 for any Guild nomination (Kidman got a Screen Actors Guild nod as well). Walking Dead's Kirkman Describes What's Ahead After Shocking Midseason Finale

Andrew Lincoln subsequently [Warning: This story consists of major spoilers in the Walking Dead's midseason finale. Read at the own risk.] The Walking Dead's Sophia was... a master! Following the children spent as well as from the second season's first half trying to find Carol's daughter, it works out she was right under their nose. Did Hershel (Scott Wilson) and the family be aware of object of the search is at their zombie-plagued barn? Or did Sophia (Madison Lintz) become a victim of her very own mistake? TVGuide.com switched to executive producer and comic creator Robert Kirkman to find the solutions. Discover how Shane's decision to eliminate the zombies within the barn will modify the group's future: Walking Dead's Sarah Wayne Callies: Lori's afraid Ron and Shane might kill one another The way needing to kill Sophia modify the group, particularly Ron (Andrew Lincoln subsequently)? Robert Kirkman: This year is greatly about Rick's emergence as leader or deciding that he isn't exceptional in internet marketing. He's torn for the reason that everybody is searching to him for solutions constantly and that he may be the p facto leader of the group, but it is nothing like he requested this. During the period of this year, we are seeing him making lots of choices and having into making choices that do not finish up following your rules ones. This case with Sophia is an extremely good illustration of that. Resulting in that girl turning out to be a spook and winding up for the reason that barn is greatly a choice he made, so it is going to put on on him. Getting into the final half of year, he's certainly likely to be coping with his ideas how they were given to that particular point, and it will likely be a difficult factor for him to cope with. Hershel and the family understood the children have been trying to find this young girl. Did they are fully aware Sophia is at the barn? Did she wander directly into take cover and fell prey towards the zombies? Kirkman: That's all likely to be revealed whenever we return in Feb. That's certainly a large question. Shane (Jon Bernthal) was pretty pissed-off and that i don't believe he will calm lower following the initial shock of seeing Sophia. Whenever we pick some misconception, things is going to be in a pretty high intensity level and that is the first question that's requested. Did they are fully aware she is at there? And when they did, why were they hiding that information from their store? Such groups happen to be greatly at odds over the truth that Hershel does not would like them to remain there, plus they seem like being delivered back on the highway is a dying sentence, so they have already got enough to battle about and case yet another problem being tossed in to the mix. The Walking Dead Boss: Shane's living on lent time -- but has not worn-out his welcome yet The catalyst for Shane completely losing it had been learning this news that Lori (Sarah Wayne Callies) is pregnant. What's going to we have seen with this ongoing losing control? Kirkman: He still sees themself as accountable for the security of Lori and Carl (Chandler Riggs) and today this newborn, to ensure that will drive him just a little crazy. He can't permit the zombies to remain in that barn due to the threat they pose. Regardless of what anybody states, he needed to take proper care of the problem. We are likely to see much more of that entering the relaxation of year. It is also likely to be very disrespectful to Ron for him to become saying, "You were not being careful of the barn situation, and so i needed to step-up and do this.Inch It is going to place them at odds getting into these later episodes. He's greatly likely to be a catalyst of change and conflict that will move us in to the third season. Will Shane be ousted in the group for the seriousness of what he just did? Kirkman: That's all dependent on perspective. You will find figures like Dale (Jeffrey DeMunn) who are likely to see him like a loose cannon while he is further complicating things for everyone. But simultaneously, Andrea (Laurie Holden), Daryl (Norman Reedus) and T-Dog (Irone Singleton) counseled me extremely swift enter into with Shane and take part in cleaning up the barn. Using their perspective, individuals figures might be seeing Shane as an individual who is showing leadership quality and it is making good choices for that enhancement from the group. We're able to begin to see more and more people come to Shane's aspect. Walking Dead's Robert Kirkman: Lori's surprising answers are just the beginning Will Shane and Ron confront one another concerning the Lori situation? Ron understood they rested together within the midseason finale, only told Shane that they was pregnant. Will which come up rapidly? Kirkman: You need to note that's a good example of Rick's character. Why would he ever state that to Shane? It's enough he knows and that he is accepting it. Telling Shane he knows could only complicate things. As they could get some satisfaction in telling uncle he does not have one-on him, he knows exactly what happened, they know which will just bring conflict. That's an indication of a great leader. That is what makes Ron, Ron, that he's prepared to make that sacrifice to be able to keep your peace. Since Ron is aware of Shane and Lori, the way that alter the dynamic between Ron and Lori? Kirkman: To some extent, our planet has enhanced their relationship, the industry little bizarre. We managed to get very obvious their marriage was virtually around the rocks before he got shot and ended up right into a coma. Getting into the final half of year, because the secrets are cleaned away between the pair of them as well as their relationship will be open, we are likely to discover their whereabouts grow closer and closer. Our planet will finish up as being a positive thing on their behalf relationship smart. Continuing to move forward in the barn situation, exactly what does the near future hold for that group? Can they make an effort to remain on the farm? Kirkman: Hershel had been asking these to leave once Carl was cured. I do not think after exactly what happened in the finish of the episode, he will not all of a sudden end up like, "Let alone, everyone can remain.Inch Whether they are around the farm or from the farm, the conflict of that's really likely to drive the storyline. The Walking Dead: Creator weighs in at in on Season 1's greatest mystery You've stated before that creating changes in the comics keeps it fresh for audiences who know what goes on. But it is possible to point where making such large changes may alienate the comic visitors? Kirkman: I really hope not because you will find more coming. In my experience, maintaining the surprise and also the shock factor from the comic series is a lot more important than adapting directly. Adapting it directly, to some extent, would finish up being boring. Nevertheless, you will find very huge moments within the comic series which make the storyline what it's and we'll be adapting individuals every so often. Even if we all do that, I am likely to be conscious to the fact that there is a area of the audience that's conscious of these occasions. Like Carl getting shot at the outset of this year, we are going to reach individuals moments in different ways to ensure that the people who understand the comics will not view it coming. It will likely be a give-and-take. Hopefully, individuals will just believe that it's all regulated for everyone the spontaneity and also the unexpectedness from the show. It's all regulated completed with an attempt towards entertaining people. The Walking Dead returns Sunday, February. 12 at 9/8c on AMC. Take a look at a unique consider the making from the barn scene:

Weekend Box Office: 'Breaking Dawn' Still Rules, But 'Muppets' Win Family Movie Melee

It's a new holiday pageant: a Thanksgiving feast where the Indians are werewolves and the white settlers don't even eat. During a weekend with three highly touted new family films, the family that a plurality of moviegoers chose to visit was the undead Cullen clan of 'The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn Part 1.' In its second weekend, the vampire romance easily held onto the top spot at the box office, while 'The Muppets' won the three-way battle for family film supremacy. According to studio estimates, 'Breaking Dawn' earned another $62.3 million over the five-day holiday, or $42.0 million from Friday to Sunday. That's a sharp decline of 70 percent from last week's debut, but it's still on a par with the performance of earlier installment 'New Moon.' The film is playing in more venues than any other (4,066 screens) and is doing a smashing $10,330 per screen over the three-day weekend. In 10 days, it's earned $221.3 million. Debuting in second place, 'The Muppets' made off with an estimated $29.5 million over the three-day weekend. Most pundits had expected a weekend haul above $30 million, given the multi-generational appeal of the fuzzy felt folks and the year-long parade of hype for the feature. Still, 'The Muppets' has earned a total of $42.0 million since Wednesday's debut, which is more in five days than every previous Muppet film except the first one earned throughout its entire theatrical run. (Of course, that's not adjusting for inflation; the $65.2 million take from 1979's 'The Muppet Movie' would amount to $210.1 million at today's ticket prices.) Besides positive reviews and strong word-of-mouth, 'The Muppets' also earned $8.576 per screen for the weekend, so the movie seems popular enough that it'll show some legs, even if the filmed-from-the-waist-up characters seldom do. Including the two family films already playing, there are five movies in wide release vying for that same market; given that, it's no wonder that 'Happy Feet Two' slid 37 percent this weekend to an estimated $13.4 million. The penguin sequel, which opened weakly last weekend, has the weakest reviews of any of the current family releases. Still, it managed to finish in third place this weekend and has earned $43.8 million to date. Opening at No. 4, 'Arthur Christmas' faced a few tough breaks. Besides competing with all the other family movies, it also had to open in 3,376 venues while fighting against four other wide-release movies for 3D screens. So while pundits expected it to open between $14 and $19 million, 'Arthur' settled for a three-day opening estimated at $12.7 million, for a total of $17.0 million over the five-day holiday. Sony issued a statement saying it expected the film to hold up well over the next few weeks because it's the only seasonal-themed family movie in the bunch, but a per-screen average of $3,762 (nearly identical to 'Happy Feet Two''s $3,711, after 10 days) doesn't bode well. Conversely, 'Hugo' opened much better than its modest expectations. While critics adored Martin Scorsese's first stab at kiddie fare, some observers thought that a movie that's largely an homage to silent-film pioneer Georges Méliès might play above kids' heads. Predictions for the movie, which opened on just 1,277 screens, were in the $8 to $10 million range for the weekend. Yet the film earned an estimated $11.4 million from Friday to Sunday, for a five-day total of $15.4 million and a fifth-place finish. Its per-screen average of $8,888 is even higher than that of 'The Muppets,' meaning 'Hugo' could ride out the holiday season if it expands to a wider release. On the indie front, three new movies did very well in limited release. 'My Week with Marilyn,' featuring Michelle Williams' much-buzzed-about performance as Marilyn Monroe, earned $1.8 million on 244 screens, with a respectable $7,266 per-screen average that suggests the movie will hold up well through awards season. Opening on just four screens each were silent-film tribute 'The Artist' and David Cronenberg's psychosexual period drama 'A Dangerous Method.' 'Artist' pulled in $210,414 (a whopping $52,604 per screen), while 'Method' did nearly as well with $181,852 ($45,463 per screen). Watch for these to become awards-season standouts at the box office as well. 'The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn Part 1' - Trailer No. 2 The full top 10: 1. 'The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn Part 1,' $42.0 million (4,066 screens), $221.3 million total 2. 'The Muppets,' $29.5 million (3,440), $42.0 million 3. 'Happy Feet Two,' $13.4 million (3,606), $43.8 million 4. 'Arthur Christmas,' $12.7 million (3,376), $17.0 million 5. 'Hugo,' $11.4 million (1,277) $15.4 million 6. John Malone's Liberty Media Mulls Increasing Its Stake in Sirius XM (Report)

By Georg Szalai NY - John Malone's Liberty Media is considering increasing its stake in satellite radio firm Sirius XM Radio in the spring, the NY Post reported. After saving the company from the brink of bankruptcy about two years ago, Liberty is having early-stage discussions about adding to its 40 percent stake in Sirius, the paper said citing a source close to the situation. Representatives for both companies didn't return messages seeking comment, it said. Last week, Liberty CEO Greg Maffei and chairman John Malone kept their options on Sirius open. Ahead of an investor day on Thursday, they announced a combination of tracking stocks Liberty Starz and Liberty Capital. Analysts said this could allow the company to spin off its stake in Sirius and possibly merge it into Sirius. Maffei also highlighted the strong performance and possible upside in Sirius, signaling that Liberty could alternatively increase its investment in Sirius. The Post highlighted that Liberty could increase its Sirius stake to 49.9 percent, but there are tax implications and other disadvantages. After March though, these issues go away. The Somnambulists

An RJ Films presentation of the No Damaging Films production. (Worldwide sales: No Damaging Films, London.) Created by Richard Jobson, Alan Mckenna. Directed, compiled by Richard Jobson. With: Jack Monaghan, Michael Nardone, Jack O'Connell, Rhonda Lewis, Belinda Everett, Paul Thornley, Tom Padley, Jonathan Kerrigan, Alan Mckenna, David Fynn, Tobi Bakare, Frederick Creeth, Steven Robertson, Jessye Romeo, Scott Arthur. (British dialogue)The devastating mental damage felt by British soldiers who've offered in Iraq is presented via straight-to-camera monologues in "The Somnambulists," the sincere but shateringly serious latest feature from Scottish helmer Richard Jobson ("16 Many years of Alcohol"). Although credited as compiled by Jobson, the script is dependant on extensive interviews with real soldiers, and just the stoniest heart could neglect to understand the physical and mental discomfort recounted here. Regrettably, thesping is simply too frequently stagy and stilted, as stressed through the seriously stylized approach. Pic should sleepwalk through fests, but will probably wake on cable stations. Per press notes, the pic's look and title were inspired by Joanna Kane's recent exhibition of monochrome photographs of dying- and existence-masks impressed between 150 and two centuries ago, where the silvery faces stick out against an inky black background. Likewise, the 15 thesps here deliver their monologues (shot colored) from the inside a dim studio, using the framework taking mostly just their faces, sometimes in extreme closeup, or their physiques in the torso up. In the finish of every turn, location-shot monitoring shots (mostly in black-and-whitened, aside from a couple of electronically colored photographs situated somewhere within the scene) show places the ones the soldier under consideration just pointed out. Each shot finishes with someone, most probably a family member, searching grief-stricken as though recalling the dead. No loudspeakers is known as (credits list them only as "Guy 1," "Guy 2" and so forth), but using their words, it may be deduced they represent a spectrum of military personnel, varying from infantrymen to officials, gung-ho snipers to medics. Some discuss their feeling of alienation when coming back to civilian existence, like the first (Jack Monaghan) and also the last (Scott Arthur), while some concentrate on traumas experienced on Basra's battlefields. The dust and relentless warmth of Iraq repetition not surprisingly recurrent motifs, along with a feeling of anger and unfaithfulness fond of a myriad of targets, from Iraqis themselves to former Pm Blair and also the ordinary people home who'd rather your investment war's existence. In writing, the speeches may have a far more resounding ring of veracity, however the perfs listed here are so strident, over-practiced and portentously shipped regarding drain a lot of the impact in the tales being told. Helming thesps hasn't been Jobson's strong suit (apart from Kevin McKidd in "16 Many years of Alcohol"), so that as using the semi-professional cast of "The Cleansers," he particularly underserves the youthful stars here who most require a strong directorial hands to reign them in. Elsewhere, using visual effects to exhibit the harrowing things these males and ladies have experienced, by "projecting" moments onto their eyes, is just tacky. For those Jobson's discuss the visual inspirations for that film, the entire factor may have been more efficient whether it had simply occurred for radio.Camera (color/B&W, HD), James Stoneley editor, Steven Sander music, Tim Stevens, Andrew Johnson production designer, Jude Hanly costume designer, Francessca Oddi seem (DTS/SDDS/Dolby Digital), Martin Ormond, Myles Hayden seem designers, Stevens, Johnson visual effects supervisor, Solomon Rogers visual effects, Rewind Forex stunt coordinator, Marc Cass line producer, Richard Adams second unit camera, Adam Duckworth, Jobson casting, Lucy Jenkins, Sooki McShane. 'So You Think You Can Dance' Producers Settle Lawsuit Claiming Idea Theft

Adam Rose/FOX Fox Broadcasting, 19 Entertainment and Dick Clark Productions have settled a lawsuit that claimed that the concept for the hit reality show So You Think You Can Dance was stolen from a celebrity dance instructor and his partner. The agreement comes on the verge of a trial that was scheduled to begin next Monday.our editor recommendsJury to Decide Whether 'So You Think You Can Dance' Was Stolen From Dance InstructorFox Renews 'So You Think You Can Dance''So You Think You Can Dance' Champion Melanie Moore Did Not Expect to Win John Cassese, who calls himself the "Dance Doctor," filed the lawsuit six years ago, claiming thathe and his writing partners registered a concept with the WGA entitled "So You Think You Can Dance." The registration described a 60-minute elimination-style contest each week where dancers around the nation competed by being forced to master unfamiliar dance styles, paired with others, and wore elaborate costumes in front of live audiences. The plaintiff hired an agent, who shopped it around in 2003, including to CAA. Allegedly, agents then divulged the ideas to 19 and DCP in formal pitch meetings held at Fox. The defendants argued there was no evidence that CAA had accepted the treatment or that the plaintiffs weren't merely attempting to seek to hire CAA as their own agents. Cassese's breach of contract lawsuit was dismissed twice by a Superior Court judge but revived each time by an appeals court. Last month, a judge refused to dismiss the lawsuit for a third time, leading to a potential showdown before a jury on whether CAA brought the dance instructor's submitted idea to the producers, and whether they failed to pay for use of the idea per an "implied-in fact contract." Now, the parties says they have reached a settlement on "mutually acceptable terms." Details haven't been revealed. A notice of settlement has been filed in the case. Jim Spertus represented the plaintiffs. The defendants were represented byMichael Niborski at Pryor Cashman and Mark Holscher and Dianna Torres at Kirkland & Ellis. VIDEO: Al Pacino's Razzie Campaign Begins With This Jack and Jill Scene

When you first wept through the Jack and Jill trailer, you probably figured that Al Pacino’s role as Al Pacino would just be a brief cameo. He falls for Adam Sandler in drag at a Lakers game and sends her a hot dog with his phone number squirted in mustard. Classic meat cute! Judging by a few new clips from the Razzie front runner though, Al Pacino co-stars in multiple scenes as Jill’s overeager love interest. With that revelation, let’s formally begin Pacino’s own Razzie campaign with this clip of him wooing Adam Sandler in drag by teaching her/him/it how to swing a baseball bat — directly in front of his Academy Award. You see where this is going. Pacino has been nominated for Golden Raspberries before — for his work in Revolution and a dual nomination in 2008 for 88 Minutes/Righteous Kill — but hopefully his work here will finally earn him that coveted Razzie win. Jack and Jill stinks up your local theater Nov. 11. (That’s tomorrow!) [via Yahoo!] Follow Julie Miller on Twitter. Follow Movieline on Twitter.

Dakota Fanning's Perfume Ad Banned

Dakota Fanning isn't one to sidestep controversy. In 2007, her movie 'Hounddog' featured a scene where her character was raped (Fanning was only 14 at the time); in 2010, she had a rather provocative kissing scene with co-star Kristen Stewart in 'The Runaways'; today, we have another mini-scandal -- although this one has nothing to do with a movie. According to The Telegraph, an advertisement Fanning did for Marc Jacbos perfume, Oh, Lola!, has been banned due to its sexual nature. In the ad, which you can see below, the actress is shown wearing a short skirt with a giant bottle of perfume in between her legs. The Advertising Standards Authority, the UK regulatory agency that decided to ban the ad, had this to say about their decision: "We understood the model [Fanning] was 17 years old but we considered she looked under the age of 16. We considered that the length of her dress, her leg and position of the perfume bottle drew attention to her sexuality. Because of that, along with her appearance, we considered the ad could be seen to sexualise a child." The Telegraph also said that Fanning was "humbled" when she was first asked to star in the Marc Jacob campaign. Amanda Seyfried Will Be Linda Lovelace

Peter Sarsgaard may co-starDeep Throat star Linda Lovelace's story is such an enticing one for filmmakers. So enticing, in fact, that not one but two films are currently bubbling away in development about her life. But both have had problems locking down a cast, particularly for the prickly central role. Now, though, Howl directors Rob Epstein and Jeffrey Friedman's effort, Lovelace, has scored Amanda Seyfried to star.Lovelace will chronicle the actress' younger years, from her start as a fresh-faced Florida schoolgirl named Linda Boreman to her meeting with future husband Chuck Traynor and his decision to cast her in the controversial 1972 porn pic. Though the role made her an international sex star, she was also horribly victimized by Traynor and others, ending up quitting the business, divorcing him and putting her life on a more stable track until her tragic death in 2002.Epstein and Friedman had lined up Kate Hudson and James Franco to play Lovelace and Traynor, but with Hudson pregnant, the schedule shifted, which meant Franco also departed. Peter Sarsgaard is in talks to take on the role instead. The directing pair wants to start shooting in January, and they'll face competition from Matthew Wilder's film Inferno, which has Malin Akerman playing Linda (after Lindsay Lohan dropped out) and Matt Dillon as Traynor. 2012 could see the battle of the Lovelace biopics...

New Clips From The Rum Diaries

Johnny Depp demands to have some boozeIf you've read Hunter Thompson's The Rum Diary you'll know that while it's many things - riotous, chaotic, colourful - what it isn't is an obviously 'filmy' book. There's not a lot of conflict, little need for resolution and no big villain to have audiences hissing at the screen. Then again, something similar was said about Fear And Loathing In Las Vegas and that ended up winning a spot in cult movie heaven. This, we suspect, is where Bruce Robinson comes in. It's a hugely welcome return for the Withnail And I director, coaxed out of semi-retirement by Johnny Depp to write and direct. The humour and none-more-quotable patter that made Withnail great, combined with Thompson's acid prose, should make for a feast for fans of smart scriptwriting and blackly comic moments. These two new clips from the film, courtesy of Yahoo!Movies, set the scene for Paul Kemp's (Depp) arrival in the Puerto Rico town of San Juan, where he's due to start working for The San Juan Star. There he gets involved in a bombshell blonde by the name of Chenault (Amber Heard), sharp operator Sanderson (Aaron Eckhart) and a titanic amount of rum.Depp's compared the story to Casablanca, humbly we're sure, and there's more than a touch of Scoop in there too. It's out in cinemas from November 11; let us know if you're looking forward to seeing Captain Jack back in landlubbers garb in the usual spot...

'The Walking Dead': Robert Kirkman, Gale Anne Hurd Tease Season 2

Thanks to AMC"The Walking Dead" With new showrunner Glen Mazzara in position and two times the amount of episodes to understand more about in the second season, The Walking Dead authors have much more room to experience this season. Now, the AMC zombie series can target the drama happening on-screen, beginning using the fiery finale and what Jenner whispered to Ron (Andrew Lincoln subsequently) prior to the CDC explosion. Plus how stable is Ron and Lori's (Sarah Wayne Callies) marriage? Will Shane (Jon Bernthal) still get out of hand? And merely what triggered the zombie outbreak to begin with? The Hollywood Reporter swept up with executive producers Gale Anne Hurd and Robert Kirkman (who produced the comics the series is dependant on) to find the scoop what's next for that gang of not-so-merry children. Listed here are nine things to understand about Season 2. PHOTOS: Behind the curtain of 'The Walking Dead' Season Two 1. What did Jenner whisper to Ron in the CDC? When Season 1 ended, this guitar rock band of children was all of a sudden forced back to the route to nowhere after Jenner blew in the CDC soon after whispering something to Ron. What did he simply tell him so when will that be revealed? "We certainly tease it within the premiere," Hurd informs THR. Is everybody infected? Is Lori pregnant? "We'll certainly let you know what that's and resolve that although you are still wondering about this,Inch Kirkman states, observing the authors are extremely conscious of retaining audiences' interest. "It will likely be ended prior to the finish from the second season -- it may be the very first episode, it may be within the last.Inch 2. What triggered the zombie apocalypse? As the origin from the story has not yet been contacted, even while Kirkman's series approaches Problem 90, the AMC drama will disclose things "in some places,Inch the comic creator states. "So far as really locating the response to things, we're most likely not really doing that in the near future.Inch Meanwhile, the impact from the apocalypse will modify the children -- and also the new people Ron and company meet on the way -- diversely. STORY: 'The Walking Dead' Season 2: Exactly what the Experts Say Within the Season 2 premiere, for instance, T-Dog (Robert "IronE" Singleton) cuts his arm avoiding a pack of ramblers and also the authors uses that to understand more about ways the earth has transformed. "Using the second season, we desired to reveal that there's still natural quantity of dying -- someone could get influenza and obtain very sick and die," Kirkman offers. "With T-Dog, he cuts his arm and that he could just bleed to dying from obtaining a cut nowadays. You don't always need to be getting eaten by zombies. We desired to make certain people understood the planet is the fact that a lot more harmful." 3. More back story. With two times the amount of episodes, Walking Dead's second year will delve more to their figures' back tales, using the premiere flashing to Ron and Lori prior to the world transformed and going through the character of the marriage. "We're likely to become familiar with a lot about Ron and Lori's relationship in the past," Kirkman teases. "Given things that continued with Shane, we'll be determining their associations much more clearly continue.Inch Flashbacks, however, is going to be used moderately and never a normal a part of each episode, a la Forex's American Horror Story. 4. What goes on to some marriage once the world finishes? Requested if Ron and Lori really are a stable couple, Kirkman noted they weren't OK prior to the outbreak which a global full of the undead might have assisted their relationship. "Exactly what the finish around the globe has been doing is boiled things lower to, 'Are we great for one another? Will we love one another?' " he states. While Kirkman notes that going for a take a step back in the "nonsense every day civilized existence" continues to be great for the pair, their energized relationship will make existence progressively tougher for Shane. "Among the large causes of dramatic tension within the piece is clearly the love triangular," Hurd states. "Lori feels tremendous guilt and Shane is battling together with his fascination with her and Carl and just how he matches -- does he easily fit in, it is possible to spot for him within this community?" STORY: What's Next for 'The Walking Dead' Season Two? 5. Must I stay or must i go? With Shane playing no choice but to look at as Lori stands by Ron's side, within the premiere he'll ponder splitting in the group -- but he won't be the sole one with branching on their mind. "Everybody is seeking a couple of things: first, a secure harbor, a sanctuary," Hurd states. "Second, a sense they fit in with something." "Shane is type of being tortured when you are around Ron and Lori, getting had that relationship [with Lori] so obviously he'd be enticed to simply kick themself from the equation and embark on their own,Inch Kirkman states. "We have seen very in early stages within the second season that things aren't always easy which the thought of going off by yourself may hold less appeal than adhering it and battling with one of these people." 6. Shane's existence really sucks. While Daryl's (Norman Reedus) brother Merle (Michael Rooker) is available somewhere and everybody has lost buddies and family, Shane is easily the most miserable from the group and can likely still solve. "Above all else, Shane has been completely tortured with this world and that he's getting a harder time than anybody," Kirkman states, observing that although Ron was presumed dead, he got the household he wanted coupled with a location in society. "Once Ron returned, everything was removed from him in an exceedingly abrupt change which's something which's difficult for him to cope with. That's among the core story lines from the second season: So how exactly does Shane cope with this and exactly what does it drive him to complete.Inch STORY: 'The Walking Dead' Help guide to Being a Zombie 7. Who's The Governor? The legendary character in the comics has yet to create a look and feel around the AMC series and, despite speculation that Daryl's brother, Merle, may ultimately function as the twisted psychopath, Kirkman keeps that audiences haven't yet meet him. "The Governor character is going to be introduced sooner or later and it'll most likely be an authentic character that hasn't made an appearance within the appear to that particular point," Kirkman states. 8. Andrea and ... Shane? Still mourning losing her sister, Amy, Andrea (Laurie Holden) bailed on the suicide attempt for the CDC to be able to save Dale (Jeffrey DeMunn). When Season 2 opens, she's still very broken and incredibly upset to become alive. "Eventually she's going to leave that attempting to have the ability to safeguard herself," Kirkman states. "We'll certainly see the start of the evolution towards the character that they is incorporated in the comic, from the courageous sharpshooter that they grew to become." Who she turns to as she transitions into that strong character becomes the fierce sharpshooter, meanwhile, may surprise fans from the comics. "We're certainly likely to see a bit of rapport developing between Shane and Andrea," Kirkman notes. "Individuals two are certainly likely to be investing a little additional time together." 9. New figures. Ron and company are going to a farm (as observed in the important thing art for Season 2), where they'll meet Hershel (Scott Wilson), his daughter Maggie (Lauren Cohan) and farmhand Otis (Pruitt Taylor Vince), as with Kirkman's comics. However, the budding romance between Maggie and Glenn might not engage in because they did within the pages. "You will see an attraction however it's not really simple it's likely to be complicated by stuff that are extremely clearly not within the comic," Hurd states. Adds Kirkman: "Shane has already been dead at this time within the comics, then when they get through to the farm, he's completely from the picture. Getting him take part in the storyline changes things in many interesting ways and also the Andrea-Shane relationship, no matter what that entails, is really a large a part of that." 'The Avengers' Trailer: First Look at Marvel's Superhero Supergroup Arrives

Praise the superhero Gods: the official trailer for 'The Avengers' has arrived -- and it does not disappoint. After all the hoopla and magazine previews and Comic-Con panels, we finally get a substantial look at a film that was first teased three years ago at the end of 'Iron Man.' The trailer doesn't offer a whole lot in terms of story -- other than that lots of stuff is blowing up in NY and the Avengers need to save everybody. Another thing the trailer doesn't tell us: who the bad guys are. Yes Loki, is the main villain, but he definitely is getting some help from another group. We assume director Joss Whedon and Marvel want to keep their identities a secret as long as possible. Follow Moviefone on Twitter Like Moviefone on Facebook RELATED

"Not just is her family in danger due to divorce, however her household is in danger because they are add-ons to murder." Even though Tom might be taking pleasure in the only existence (and getting a new girlfriend), it does not appear that Lynette is going to be doing exactly the same. "She's type of within the starts. She's for the reason that a part of when you are single and also you go, 'I'm old and body fat and ugly.' So at this time it is sad and difficult,Inch Huffman states. After many years of tumultuous associations, she's guarded expect Bree and Chuck's future. "I believe she's got a bit more on her behalf mind than remaining with someone, but I'm not sure, we'll see," Mix states. "This stuff weave their means by and out." Renee and also the New Guy: Renee (Vanessa Williams) will not be clued in to the large mystery around the lane - most likely because she's preoccupied together with her hot new neighbor, Ben (Charles Mesure). Hollywood Backing Could Be Critical As Reps. Howard Berman, Brad Sherman Battle

Democratic Congressmen Howard Berman and Brad Sherman are squaring off in the primary race for the San Fernando Valley’s 30th Congressional District, but a big part of the battle is being fought in Hollywood. They’re frequent allies in D.C. and are pitted against each other because of California’s recent re-districting. But both Demos have track records of backing Hollywood and will look to cash in on that, according to Politico. Berman, who sits on the House Judiciary Committee, has for years championed copyright and anti-piracy legislation critical to the industry. DreamWorks founders Steven Spielberg, David Geffen and Jeffrey Katzenberg will hold a Beverly Hilton fundraiser for him in November at the Beverly Hilton that is expected to net more than $1M. Berman told Politico he’s proud of his Hollywood backing. It demonstrates that I fight for my district, Berman said. “This is my automobile industry, and I pay attention to it. But Sherman has been a friend of the biz, too. He chairs the Congressional Entertainment Industries Caucus and his current district includes the NBC and Disney studios. He counts Ed Begley Jr. and Bill Prady, exec producer of the The Big Bang Theory as backers. Sherman said he thinks he’ll get his share of the dollars and votes. I think there is going to be a split, the way there is with every community. Its certainly not monolithic. The Hollywood cash each brings in will come in handy. Shermans $3.6M war chest is among the highest in the House, and Berman has amassed $1.5M. Eric Bauman, chairman of the LA Democratic Party, predicted the race would total $10M-$12M before it’s over. But fellow Demo Congressman Henry Waxman, a Berman ally for decades, said that Berman will win the race for Hollywood’s hearts, minds and wallets. Its because Howard has been there for many years fighting for many of the issues Hollywood cares about, Waxman told Politico. They know hes with them and that hes a very serious legislator. Regardless of how it shakes down, it won’t be decided anytime soon. In California’s new “jungle primary” system, the top two candidates in an open party primary run against each other in November. That means they’llalmost surely be running against each other once next June, then again five months later.

What's approaching inside the final season premiere of Desperate Regular folks? -Marley NATALIE: Remarkably, dying strikes again in Fairview inside the season-opener. While everyone else deals (much less well) utilizing their role in hiding the murder of Gaby's stepfather, it's Susan who'll take both deaths the most difficult when she reduces before other people - well, just about all are also people. How extended will The Closer extend this new suit against Brenda? - Danielle ADAM: Creator James Duff notifies us that that story will summary with the finish from short term of winter episodes. "She must use people peering over her shoulder together with the certain knowning that everything she does might be relayed to people outdoors the LAPD in the toxic way." Will there be any chance Nikita and Alex will reconcile on Nikita? -James NATALIE: Based on what Nikita gives Alex inside the premiere - that's slightly less harsh than killing her father, but more hurtful than, say, planting her inside the depths of Division just like a mole - it is not searching good. Still, Maggie Q states there's expect the fractured pair. "There is a look at trust coming back, there's however lots of factors and stuff that come out in what Alex wants and what her goals are," she states. "She's got tunnel vision, what Nikita been in the initial season, and very little else matters but revenge." Adam's Mega Rave: As I am as concerned as anybody in regards to the behind-the-moments kerfuffle concerning the Walking Dead, the wonderful Season 2 premiere can be as much gory, intense fun as anything the show is doing so far. Ensure that you keep your barf bag handy. Natalie's Small Rant: Killing Tara inside the True Blood stream finale was gutsy, but finding the very next day that Rutina Wesley is returning for the show next season negates the moment's narrative energy. Watercooler: Is Pretty Little Liar's Dr. Sullivan DO-"A"?

Annabeth Gish "The doctor is out." Now that can't be good. This closing-moments text from our elusive "A" sent a chill through the Pretty Little Liars - and fans - last night after the gang's shrink, Dr. Sullivan, summoned them to her office to reveal that "A" was possibly one of her clients. Unfortunately, once they arrived on the scene, our dear Doc was nowhere to be found, nor was the case-file that (possibly) held the secret to the show's central stalker. So do we think "A" has claimed another life? That is, assuming whomever it is also disposed of Ali and creepy Ian. The sick part of us kind of hopes so, since this seriously ups the game and gives the girls a foe who's willing to kill anyone to keep their secret. But the healthier (less homicidal) part of us is keeping our fingers crossed that we'll see more of Annabeth Gish's so-cool clinical psychiatrist. If not in here, then maybe an hour later on The Lying Game...cause that switcheroo scene is getting just as crazy, too! What do you think? Is the PLL body count about to rise again? And really, who do you think is capable of murder among our Rosewood regulars? (And no spoilers from anyone whose read the books!) Subscribe to TV Guide Magazine now!
